1. Who controls your data
The data controller for this app is britelapps. Reach us at Support@britelapps.online.
2. Data we process
2.1 Translation requests (text, voice transcripts, OCR output)
When you translate a text, voice clip, photograph or document, the source text is sent to our proxy server at britelapps.online. The proxy then forwards the text to a machine-translation engine and returns the translated text to the App. The proxy does not store the text after the translation is returned — request bodies are not written to disk and are not logged.
2.2 Network metadata
Our proxy server briefly records the IP address of incoming requests in volatile rate-limit counters that are pruned every few minutes. We use this only to block abuse (for example: a bot trying to use the proxy as a free translation API). The counters do not contain the content of your translations.
2.3 On-device data
The App stores the following only on your iPhone, never on our servers:
- Your translation history and favorites (up to a few hundred entries).
- Your selected source, target and app-display languages.
- Theme preference (light / dark / system) and keyboard layout (QWERTY / AZERTY / QWERTZ).
- A small counter and timestamp used to space interstitial ads so they don't appear too often.
This information lives in iOS user defaults and the iOS Keychain. Deleting the App removes all of it.
2.4 Microphone & camera
The App requests microphone access only when you use the voice-translation or conversation feature, and camera access only when you use the camera-translation feature. Audio is processed by Apple's on-device SFSpeechRecognizer to produce a text transcript; the transcript is what gets translated. Photo data is processed locally by Apple's Vision framework. No raw audio or photos are sent to our servers.
2.5 Photos library
If you choose to import a photo from your library for camera translation or document translation, the photo is processed locally on your device. We do not upload your photos.
2.6 Advertising data (AdMob)
The App is free and is supported by ads delivered through Google AdMob (interstitial, rewarded, and app-open formats). To serve and measure ads, AdMob may access:
- The device's advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, AdMob serves non-personalized ads using contextual signals.
- SKAdNetwork conversion postbacks — Apple's privacy-preserving framework for attributing ad-driven installs. SKAdNetwork does not reveal your identity.
- General device signals (model, iOS version, language, coarse region) sent by the AdMob SDK for ad serving.
britelapps never sees your IDFA and never matches translation activity to ad identifiers. The handling of these signals by Google is governed by the Google partner sites policy and the AdMob privacy & messaging guidelines.
3. What we do NOT collect
- No accounts — there is no sign-up, no email, no password.
- No analytics SDKs. We don't ship Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, AppsFlyer or similar tooling.
- No contacts, calendars, health or precise-location data.
- No retained translation content. Translation requests are not logged on our server.
- No cross-app tracking by us. Any tracking signals are limited to Google AdMob and only with your ATT consent.
4. Third-party processors
To deliver the App we route certain data through:
- Google Cloud Translation API (or an equivalent provider) — receives the source text via our proxy and returns the translated text. We send the minimum necessary content (the text to translate and the target language code).
- Google AdMob — serves interstitial, rewarded and app-open ads. See section 2.6 for the data involved.
- Apple — App Tracking Transparency consent and SKAdNetwork install attribution.
- Hostinger — hosts our proxy server (
britelapps.online). Server-level access logs are managed by Hostinger and follow their privacy practices.
We do not share account identifiers with these processors because the App doesn't collect any.
5. Children
The App is rated 4+. It is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. AdMob is configured to serve family-safe ad content. Because the App does not have user accounts and does not collect identifying data, there is no profile we can attribute to a child or anyone else.
6. Security
Traffic between the App and our proxy is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS). Requests are authenticated with a per-request HMAC signature so that other apps and casual scrapers cannot use our endpoint. The translation API key never ships inside the App binary — it is stored only on the server, outside the publicly served directory.
7. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Limit ad tracking — go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and revoke Go Translate's tracking permission at any time. AdMob will then serve non-personalized ads.
- Reset your advertising identifier — iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
- Clear translation history — open the App's Settings and tap "Clear History".
- Request data access or deletion — depending on where you live (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) you may have rights to access or delete personal data we hold. Because we hold very little user data, in most cases there is nothing for us to retrieve. Email Support@britelapps.online and we will respond within 30 days.
8. International transfers
Our translation provider and AdMob may process requests on servers located outside your country. By using the App you understand that translation and ad-serving traffic transits through these systems for the purpose of completing the request.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will change and, when changes are material, we will display a notice inside the App.
