The app can't find my TV

Make sure your iPhone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network (not a guest network), the TV is on, and you allowed Local Network access when iOS asked (check Settings โ†’ Apps โ†’ TV Remote โ†’ Local Network). You can also add the TV manually with its IP address โ€” find it in the TV's network settings.

How does pairing work?

The first time you connect to a Samsung or LG TV, a permission prompt appears on the TV screen โ€” accept it with the TV's original remote. This happens only once. Roku TVs need no pairing at all.

The TV turns off but won't turn back on

Turning a TV on over Wi-Fi requires a setting on the TV itself: "Power On with Mobile" (Samsung, under General โ†’ Network โ†’ Expert Settings), "Quick Start+" (LG, under General), or "Fast TV Start" (Roku, under System โ†’ Power). Enable it once and the power button will wake the TV.

Casting stops when I leave the app

That's expected โ€” your TV streams photos and videos directly from your iPhone, so the app must stay open while casting. Nothing is ever uploaded to a server.

A video I cast won't play

Most recent TVs play iPhone videos fine. Very old models may not support HEVC video. Photos work on practically every TV โ€” try one to confirm the connection, then retry the video.

How do I use Siri?

Just say: "Hey Siri, pause the TV with TV Remote" โ€” also works for play, mute, volume up/down and power. The commands appear in the Shortcuts app too, so you can add them to the Action Button.

My Apple Watch shows no TVs

Open TV Remote on your iPhone once while the watch app is installed โ€” your TVs sync automatically. Both devices should be on the same Wi-Fi as the TV.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: on your iPhone go to Settings โ†’ your name โ†’ Subscriptions โ†’ TV Remote โ†’ Cancel. If you cancel during the free trial, you won't be charged.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all payments and refunds. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account and select the purchase.
